Renovation and demolition debris removal in Kamloops

Drywall, lumber, cabinets, flooring, shingles and everything the tear-out leaves in a pile. We haul it, or we drop a bin and you fill it at your own pace.

What the job actually involves

Renovation waste is heavy and it is mixed, and both of those things cost money at the scale. Mission Flats charges mixed demolition and construction waste at a much higher rate per tonne than household garbage, and a mixed load is charged at the highest rate that applies to anything in it. Sorting matters more here than on any other job.

Two ways to do it. Full service: we come with the truck, load the pile from where it sits and take it away in one visit. Bin: we drop a 10, 15 or 20 yard roll-off, you fill it over the days the job runs, and we haul it when you are done. If you are not sure which fits, describe the job and we will tell you.

What we take

  • Drywall, plaster and lath
  • Lumber, trim, doors and cabinets
  • Flooring, tile, carpet and underlay
  • Roofing tear-off and shingles
  • Concrete, brick and rubble, kept separate
  • Old vanities, sinks and bathtubs

Before we arrive

  • Keep clean wood, shingles and concrete in their own piles if you can
  • Bag the drywall dust and the small debris
  • Tell us about anything that may contain asbestos
  • Clear a spot for the truck or the bin

Asbestos and older homes

Homes built before the 1990s can have asbestos in drywall compound, floor tile, insulation and stipple ceilings. Mission Flats is the only Kamloops landfill that takes material that may contain asbestos, by appointment booked 24 hours ahead. Tell us before the job starts, not after, so it can be tested and handled the way the landfill requires.

This was our second time using them. First was to remove junk from our backyard and they were fantastic. This time around we had a garage FULL of renovation debris and they made short work of removing it all and it’s nice to have the garage back! They’re polite, courteous, honest and hard working. Thanks fellas!

Reply from the owner: Thank you so much Garret, Im very pleased your happy with our hard work , thanks for the call to help again

11/10 would recommend Joseph and his team for junk and appliance removal in the Kamloops area!! Easy to communicate with, super affordable, lightning quick and painless service. We had a giant, heavy, junk appliance that we inherited with a building and needed it out on short notice to begin renovations. I called Lightning Rubbish Removal and they came the same day to walkthrough and give an estimate (which was less than half of what I expected to pay!) and then they scheduled the removal for 1 day later first thing in the morning! I've never had anyone be on time for a pickup or delivery and Joseph was even 15 minutes early and was gone within half an hour with the job done perfectly!! Thank you for taking such a weight off my shoulders!!!

Reply from the owner: Thank you Kent , I really appreciate the kind & thoughtful review. I'm so very pleased your happy with my service !

Renovation debris questions

Bin or full service?

A bin when the job runs over days and the pile keeps growing; full service when the debris is already in a pile and you want it gone in one visit. Describe the job and we will tell you which one costs less.

Can concrete and shingles go in the same bin?

They can, but it costs more. Concrete and asphalt tip cheaply on their own, and shingles kept separate are charged at a lower rate than mixed waste. Keep them apart if you can and tell us what is in the pile.

What about drywall?

Drywall goes as construction waste. Bag the dust and the small pieces, and stack the sheets so they can be carried. If the house is older, read the asbestos note above before anyone cuts into it.

Do you do the demolition too?

Our job is the debris. Tell us what the project is when you call and we will say what we can and cannot do on site.

Can you take it from inside the house?

Yes. Full service means we load from wherever the pile is: the basement, the second floor, the back yard. That is the difference from a bin, which only takes what you carry to it.

How much does renovation debris removal cost in Kamloops?

It depends on the weight, whether it is sorted, and whether a bin or a truck fits the job better. Call or text 250-682-6262 with a photo of the pile and we will give you a free estimate.
